I would like to define a connection to an external Firebird database whose character set is defined as 'NONE' (maybe not a good practice, but that is irrelevant now). To connect to such a database is apparently not possible, since the project character set is (by default) utf-8.

Is there any way to connect to an external Firebird database whose character set is not UTF8? Is there an easy way to change either a character set of an existing Firebird database (for instance from NONE to UTF8) or of a Morfik project, in order to be able to connect project with a database.

Hi Borut,
You can easily connect to non utf-8 external Firebird databases and the Character Set option is available in the new project wizard.

Create a new Web Application using the wizard and in the second step (Project Template) select [Blank New Project] (rather than Default) and continue going through the steps. Towards the end (step 7) you will be asked to choose a Character Set from an available list. Hope this helps.
